On the bank of the Yellow River, the music master passionately interpreted Lanzhou dream. Under Gaolan Mountain, the wonderful sound of Hailun piano flied in the sky. The cultural event of the 23rd Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards Film Festival will be held in Lanzhou, a famous city in northwest China, later this month. Lanzhou will also make good use of this opportunity to create a city image film to promote its own heavy urban culture.
In 2013, the famous Swedish composer and pianist Robert Wells had a concert in Lanzhou. The style of Lanzhou left him a beautiful and deep impression. After careful consideration, he readily created a piano piece named "Lanzhou, My Dream." This work is now selected as the theme song of Lanzhou City Image Film. The whole film was also produced according to the performance of Robert Wells. As the capital of the Yellow River, the state of Golden City, Lanzhou, and the spirit of the new era of the city will be in the show. At the 23rd Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival in Lanzhou, the film will be launched, and the film will also be released to the world as a tourism promotional film for Lanzhou.
Robert made a special trip to Lanzhou to record the film. Of course, he must have chosen his old friend Hailun Piano. Under the personal arrangement of Hailun Piano Chairman Chen Hailun, Hailun Company specially transported two grand pianos from Ningbo headquarter for his use.
The three-day shooting time was extremely compact. According to the requirements of the director and the shooting script, sometimes it was necessary to shoot a silver moon at night, sometimes to shoot a touch of sunshine in the morning, sometimes to use the mountains as a background, sometimes to be accompanied by the Yellow River. Robert and the crew of the film crew worked together. In order to shoot a satisfactory shot, he didn’t hesitate to retake it over and over again. In order to promote the effect of the film, he climbed up and down from a ladder of more than ten meters in spite of danger.
Equally admirable were the workers who were responsible for carrying the piano. Before each shooting, they had to move the piano to the designated position. After the shooting, they would move the piano weighing hundreds of kilograms to another attraction. In order to ensure the safety of the piano, they did their best to fulfill their duties.
In the shooting on the back of the Yellow River, there was also an unexpected thrill. At that time, the director chosen a river beach with water, trees, and high-rise buildings in the distance as the background. The scenery was beautiful. Robert was immersed in the beauty and played with emotion; the cameraman also grasped every minute, constantly changing the angle, distance and aperture, trying to capture the pianist's most beautiful look; the director was also staring at the screen monitor screen with the whole heart. The crew was immersed in the shooting over and over again. Surprisingly, the river beach that was originally connected to the river bank was gradually blocked by the water flow due to the continuous rise of the river. It formed a stream of water that was about seven or eight meters wide. It encircled this slightly higher river bank into a small island, and all the staff were trapped on the island. As the water level rose, the equipment may be overwhelmed by it, and it was even more dangerous for people. The film crew had to ask the police for help. The police quickly sent several speedboats to send all the personnel and equipment to a safe place. But what about the big piano?
In the case of rising water potential, the organizer urgently contacted the handling department and wanted to rent a long-armed crane to lift the piano out of the island, but the cost was very high. In a hurry, in the sound of the flowing water, the author asked Chen, the chairman of Hailun. After knowing this, chairman Chen only said eight words on the phone: no problem, pay attention to safety! After hearing this sentence, the staff praised and thanked chairman Chen for his support and understanding. But time was not waiting for us, long-armed cranes may not be used. The workers who moved the piano were also actively thinking about other methods. After investigation, they finally found a place where the water was not too deep. Several workers found the bearing point, screamed, struggling to lift the piano, stepping on the stones in the water, and plucking the piano to a safe place. Inadvertently, these respectable and lovely workers created the miracle of carrying the piano in the Yellow River!
The Hailun piano, which had suffered from the disaster, seemed to be particularly pleasant to play. The author observed a young staff member who had experienced this scene, listening to the sound of the piano, and his eyes were red and almost falling into tears.
The three-day shooting time was intense and colorful. Everyone had the same faith. This work was now in the process of post-production. When people appreciated this short film with their expectation, they may not know the hardships behind the scenes, but I believed that we will definitely see the pride of Hailun's piano in the beautiful short film. We will hear the beautiful sound of Hailun!
